The kids say hi!!! We are doing very well!! It is extremely hard to upload pictures, so you will only get one here and there. :)

We have started teaching and I am enjoying life here more now. I needed the responsibility and to feel like I had a purpose. I teach a few classes during the day. Kindergarten English, 1st grade English and Science, 3rd grade Vocational Skills and 4th grade Personality Development. (Those are approximate grades).

I'm learning classroom management, which is definitely a lesson in patience! :) Everywhere I go, I hear "Teacha, Teacha!" It's so funny and I love it!! The kids ALL want to hold my hand at the same time.

If you bring out a pencil or a pen, you will immediately hear, "Teacha, may I have pencil?" The kids need school supplies BADLY! They sharpen their pencils with razors (if they have pencils to start with). I brought some sharpeners, so they've gone to good use. I'm so glad Thom (our coordinator) asked for them!!

The kids wear uniforms and shine their shoes everyday. Most have holes and have been worn for years, but they look absolutely adorable. It also really helps to see if they are wearing a skirt or pants, with some of the little ones, to know their gender! :)

The kids have names like "Joy" and "Godlove" in English. Those are the easiest for me to remember, obviously. Others are Haika, Asefiuwe, and Upendo.

The people here are very open hearted and open minded. We talk about God and religion a lot. They are very focused on following God, learning and soaking up information wherever they can. They are extremely smart and I wish we had that kind of motivation in the states. The curriculum is equally as challenging and organized, if not moreso. The problem is resources and manpower to teach.

Ok my time is up here at the cafe. More next time! Love and miss you all!

PS. It's totally safe! No worries mom. And I'm not just saying that. :)
